This little critter has been hanging out around the front yard. Since he isn't nearly as fast as the lizards she usually chases, Shadow Paws finds him boring and leaves him alone.
Typically, though, these have longer tails, so I think the dogs have gotten to it t some point! In all honesty, I don't believe the dogs want to hurt the lizards or horned toads like this one, just play with them. Chasing lizards was the first together activity Shadow and Vegas connected with after she came here.
This fun creature is actually pretty mellow.

A nice little visit, then the horned toad went back out to play in the rocks near the front fence.
