And I thought we only had one roo this year. After Hopper Spark fell ill, the cats were hard on the babies, and even got Golden Boy. It made for a tough Spring, and for all of the use of humane traps, we got nowhere.
Wyatt tried to tell me there was another young roo, a cockerel he thought would be golden in color. Then yesterday, I was working in the doe pen with Bailey, and got a goof look at the one who had been hatched in the doe barn and raised by one of last year's little hens. The last I had looked, the little one was pure black and moving quickly. Well, looks like now she is a he, and we have twocockerels from this year's hatch! Now to see for sure about color and conformation!
