Yay! Ready to go!

I have had a lot of requests for lotion bars.  I knew how to do them, but always made regular lotion for Bailey and myself.  Well, I like to expand my horizons a bit, and love that I can make these in small batches and therefor have more scents available, so in between making soap for restock this week, I made lotion bars, too!

This particular bar is lavender, scented with essential oil as always.  Here they are, ready to go to market on Tuesday!  Next up?  Hmmm... I am thinking lilac or cocomango... any requests?

Crazy Hair

Wyatt and Shadow were supposed to be out working on pens.  There was some old metal border in the bantam pen that was beyond serviceability. I told Wyatt we could remove it and replace it with the large rocks we use around the garden on its other sides.  So, here they are upon removing it from the pen.  Wyatt, wearing old metal as "Hair".  Silly!  At least he was making chores fun...

Excuse the unmade bed...

I sent Wyatt in to put his messy bed back together last night before bed.  I went to check on him ten minutes later, and he was out cold on the mattress.  I finally gave up and put a blanket over him and went to bed myself.  This morning, when I went to get him up, this is what I found!  Apparently, Shadow no longer needs a bed next to Wyatt's, she believes she will share the bottom bunk just fine!

Please can I go play?

Little Shadow looking out the front door at the chickens meandering on the porch.  She really wanted to go play, but she gets too excited and catches the chickens.  So there she sat, excited and wagging her tail it the screen door.  She doesn't hurt them, but it isn't fair to the chickens, so we are working really hard to make her more familiar with them and a better guardian of them.  She is presently VERY closely supervised when outside.  Have any of you had to deal with this in training a new dog?

Welcome Home!

Came home to the other day to this- Vegas at the side fence with little Shadow right alongside barking and wagging hello.  He hates when she wants to play too rough, but loves that she looks up to him!

More rainfall totals...

Yes, this was a day late, but at least if I keep trying, I might be able to add together and know about how much rain we get this monsoon season, which is definitely a goal of mine!
So this is the rain gauge as of yesterday morning.  At this point, I still have about one day to two worth of water for the greenhouse.  With any luck I will be able to get the garden up and running in the next week or so, and worry much less about the greenhouse, moving into a better rotation with the plant starts and giving better root room.  Wish me luck!

Reading is better with a friend

Wyatt loves the Boxcar Children series.  He loves a good mystery to solve, in general, but he really enjoys these books!  He was sharing one of the dog beds with Shadow Paws, him reading a book and her chewing on a bone, listening to him tell her about his book. (No comment about the fact that I was taking pictures instead of folding the laundry you can plainly see in the background!)
Hope you enjoy a good book and great friends for the lazy dog days of Summer!Wyatt's book today?  He just downloaded another Boxcar Children book from the county library.  I will have to borrow and read it after he goes to bed tonight- I love those too!
